In a significant move to bolster cybersecurity research, approximately 150 organizations from over 15 countries, including Japanese government agencies and financial institutions, have been granted access to Anthropic’s cutting-edge artificial intelligence model, Claude Mythos. This access is part of a program designed to enhance cybersecurity by identifying system vulnerabilities and reinforcing defenses against potential cyber threats.

Participation in the program requires organizations to meet stringent security standards, ensuring that the advanced capabilities of Claude Mythos are used responsibly. Japanese Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama has acknowledged the participation of Japan’s government institutions and several banks, emphasizing the initiative as a crucial step in gearing up for future cybersecurity challenges.

Claude Mythos is a part of the “frontier AI” class, known for its ability to detect weaknesses in intricate digital systems, thus serving as a vital tool for security research.
