Cinema history has been made, and the record belongs to Spider-Man. Brand New Day’s trailer, released on March 17, became the first movie trailer in history to cross one billion views in just four days. Tom Holland’s ongoing run as the definitive screen Spider-Man has reached an entirely new peak with this unprecedented achievement.
The film is the fourth MCU Spider-Man movie and is part of Phase Six. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Brand New Day explores Peter Parker’s life four years after No Way Home’s conclusion, in which a spell left the whole world without any memory of him. The trailer captures him in a state of profound loneliness — still fighting for New York, but entirely alone in doing so.
WaveMetrix confirmed the trailer’s total viewership crossed 1.1 billion by Tuesday. Its 24-hour total of 718.6 million broke the records held by Deadpool & Wolverine at 365 million and No Way Home at 355.5 million. Even GTA VI, which had held the all-entertainment record for single-day views at 475 million, was comfortably eclipsed by Brand New Day’s footage.
The trailer’s record-breaking performance has reshaped expectations for the film’s box office debut. No Way Home earned $1.9 billion globally and became one of the most successful superhero films ever made. Brand New Day, with even greater pre-release engagement, appears primed to deliver a comparable or superior commercial performance when it opens on July 31.
Tom Holland is joined in the cast by Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo. The film will release in India in six languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam across all premium formats. The global excitement for Brand New Day continues to build with each passing day.
